Private and Commercial Pilot

Prerequisites

The Chesapeake Aviation Ground and Flight Training syllabus assumes the candidate:

  • Holds a Private or Commercial Pilot certificate
  • Holds a valid medical certificate
  • Has current proficiency in a complex aircraft
  • Has current instrument proficiency (if instrument rated)

ATP

Prerequisites

The Chesapeake Aviation Ground and Flight Training syllabus assumes the candidate:

  • Holds a Commercial Pilot certificate with a MEL rating
  • Holds a valid medical Certificate
  • Has current proficiency in a complex aircraft and current instrument proficiency
  • Has all FAR prerequisites for the ATP rating properly documented
  • Has successfully passed the FAA written examination for the ATP multiengine certificate (note: examination preparation services are available)

Multi Engine Instructor 

Prerequisites:

The Chesapeake Aviation Ground and Flight Training syllabus assumes the candidate:

  • Holds a Commercial Pilot certificate with a MEL rating
  • Holds a valid medical Certificate 
  • Holds a current Flight Instructor certificate with an Airplane rating
  • Has current proficiency in a complex aircraft
  • Has at least 10 hrs of multiengine PIC time
Ground Training:

Ground Training is a comprehensive course of instruction covering:

  • PA44-180 aircraft systems
  • Single - engine aerodynamics
  • Aircraft performance
  • Normal operating procedures
  • Casualty procedures
Flight Training:

Chesapeake Aviation's flight training manual and syllabus contains our training requirements both ground and flight times. Actual flight times veary with each pilot, but our flight training is designed to ensure each pilot becomes proficient in:

  • Multiengine maneuvers (visual and instrument references)
  • Single engine maneuvers (visual and instrument references)
  • Holding procedures
  • Precision and non-precision instrument approaches (2 engine and 1 engine) and landings

* The syllabus provides for increasing or decreasing the total time based on student proficiency and does not include flight time for the practical examination

Training Materials

Chesapeake Aviation has prepared a comprehensive flight training manual tailored to your course of instruction.  The manual covers all ground and flight training information, a syllabus for the ground and flight training course, and excerpts from the Practical Test Standard applicable to the multiengine Airline Transport Pilot certificate Practical Test.

Cost

  • Aircraft Fees - $235/hour
  • Instructor Fees - $36.00/hour
  • Multiengine Training Manual - $16.95 (available electronically or in print)
  • Practical Test - $350 (Examiner fee) plus aircraft flight time
