SPORT PILOT TRAINING

HALF THE TIME!

HALF THE PRICE!

No Medical Required!

The Sport Pilot License and Light Sport Aircraft are here!

WE WILL HELP YOU ACHEAVE YOUR DREAM!

We know why you fly—to enjoy God’s gift of flight, to make the world a little smaller, and the freedom to just wake up and go. The fun and adventure of flight are closer than you think.

What is a Sport Pilot?

Recently the Federal Aviation Administration created a new category of pilot called the Sport Pilot.  This initiative has dramatically reduced the cost of learning to fly. Sport Pilot certificates require as little as 20 hours of instruction from an FAA certified flight instructor. The holder of a sport pilot license may fly a Light Sport Aircraft (a 2 place aircraft weighing less than 1320 lbs) unlimited distances within the United States, in good weather, during daylight hours (Day VFR).

An applicant for a Sport Pilot License must:

1. Must be 16 to Solo, and 17 to obtain a Sport Pilot License
2. Be able to read, write, and converse fluently in English.
3.  Log at least 20 hours of flight time of which

·   15 hours must be dual instruction with a qualified flight instructor.
·     5 hours must be solo flight.
·     2 hours must be cross-country dual instructor.
4.  Fly one solo cross-country over a total distance of over 75 nm to two different destinations to a full-stop landing.       At least one leg of this cross-country must be over 25 nm.
5.
 Pass a FAA Written Exam

6. Pass a FAA Practical Exam
7. Have valid Driver's license or a third class medical

All training and experience for the Sport Pilot Licenes counts for any future pilot training you may wish to take.

No Medical is required - Only a valid drivers license.
If however, you have a Private Pilot’s Licenes and have not been denied a medical all you need to do is transition to Light Sport Aircraft (LSA), and we have a new Flight Design CTsw available for you. With a Private Pilot License you will not be limited to day VFR flight.

What is a Light Sport Aircraft?

Designed for fun flying on clear (VFR) days, Light Sport Aircraft blend the latest technologies in engines, aerodynamics, and safety features with the fun flying of a bygone era.

LSA Limitations:
Maximum gross takeoff weight of 1,320 lbs (1,430 lbs for seaplanes)
Maximum speed in level flight with maximum continuous power 138 mph (120 knots)
